UFV GRADUATE
STUDENT PAPER PRIZE
Eligibility:
Entrants must have been registered as a graduate student for a
least one semester during the 12-month period prior to the
annual meeting. The work reported must have been performed by
the entrant named as the first author of the abstract proposed
and the final paper.
Selection Procedures:
An evaluation committee formed by members of the Scientific
Committee will evaluate all submissions. On the basis of the
proposals, this committee will issue invitations to submit a
full paper. Up to five finalists will be accepted on the basis
of the first submission of the paper. Those selected as
finalists will be informed at the time their paper’s first draft
of paper is accepted for the conference. Their work will be
presented as 15-minute oral presentations, with the opportunity
for 10 minutes of discussion at the end of each presentation.
Following this session, members of the evaluation committee will
select a winner who will be announced at the closing ceremonies
of the conference.
Papers not
selected for presentation as finalists in the Graduate Student
Award Symposium are still eligible to be presented at the
conference in a regular session.

All finalists will have their conference fee waived. Only social
and conference material fees will need to be paid (amounting to
