THE CASE OF PLAGIARISM Erifilli Avramidou and Gerassimos Kekkeris, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece More and more universities
adopt rules and follow different practices to avoid plagiarism.
Their policies are focused on informing students and staff about the
observance of ethics and integrity rules. This paper presents the
case of plagiarism and the possible causes that lead a researcher to
commit it. The consequences of plagiarism in the academic community
depend on the policy of each university and can be divided into
individual and social, since they concern not only the member of the
university community who commits plagiarism, but also the university
itself. |
