VIRTUAL REALITY IN ELEMENTARY SCIENCE CLASS:
Konstantinos Karampelas, Sarantis Karvounidis,
Stamatia Mantikou, University of the Aegean Greece The aim of this
case study is to investigate any benefits of introducing virtual
reality software in science projects that can support the actual
goal of science teaching. The project takes place during science
classes in a primary school in Greece. After examining whether (a)
virtual reality helps achieving the teaching goals set, (b) has
positive responses by the learners, (c) is supported by the school
context and (d) is convenient cost-wise, it was concluded that
virtual reality can have benefits when implemented. However, there
are issues to be considered in what concerns responses, the school
context and cost. |
