An important message from the organisers

 

We’re still here! And responding to changing conditions in the agile manner that is wonderfully characteristic of our field.

 

The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced an unexpected new level of uncertainty into all our lives, including our professional lives. Traveling around the July conference dates may not be advisable or even permitted. ICICTE acknowledges that planning a trip during the post-vaccine – or perhaps mid-vaccine –era is complicated, especially as regards approved funding from the sending organisation.

 

Since the year 2020 which marked the 20th anniversary of ICICTE, the pandemic has motivated the ICICTE Steering Committee to rethink how the ICICTE network will continue to interact. Although we plan to host a part of ICICTE 2021 virtually on the Zoom platform, we continue to work on the organisation of ICICTE 2021 in-person on Rhodes island. This will allow us the possibility to meet again face-fo-face, faithfully following all the recommended health protocols.

 

We encourage old and new friends of the conference to plan their attendance according to their local conditions. For your convenience as you plan, we have extended the proposal deadline for the plenary sessions, the posters session, and the workshops until June 15th. Completed papers can be submitted for double-blind peer review after the conference, between June 12 to June 16. Feedback from the evaluation results will be forwarded to authors by June 23, and the final manuscripts must be submitted to the Editor of the Conference Proceedings by July 30.

 

We hope that this arrangement will encourage scientists from across the globe to join us face-fo-face, IF it is safe to do so, or remotely if that is the best option for their personal circumstances.
